We are an all breed dog club. We welcome dogs of all breeds - including mix breeds.

Fall Obedience classes will start on Thursday September 21 and run through Thursday October 26.  The 6:00 pm class is an introductory obedience class suitable for young dogs or dogs with limited skills.  The 7:00 pm class is an advanced obedience class for dogs/handlers who are wanting to fine tune skills and to be evaluated for the AKC Canine Good Citizen exam at the end of the six weeks.

Each class is limited to eight dog/handler pairs.

Cost is $75 for the class, $60 for handlers 50+, payable by credit card or debit card.  Fees are non-refundable.

To register, please email info@sedaliakennelclub.org with the following information:  your name, dog’s name, dog’s breed or mix of breeds if known, dog’s age, your phone number and which class you are wanting to sign up for (6:00 or 7:00).  A member of the club will email you with any questions and let you know that you can then pay.  Once payment has been received, your spot is secure.

To make payment, please use the PayPal link below.  With your payment, indicate that it is for Fall2023OB.

All dogs need to be current on their vaccinations for their age.  Proof of vaccinations are required the first night of class (no exceptions).  Puppies need to be at least four months of age and all dogs must have proof of rabies.

Dogs will need a properly fitted training collar and a six foot leash.  Examples will be shown the first night of class.

Any dog that is aggressive/reactive towards other dogs and/or people may be excused from the class.  If you are concerned about your dog’s behavior prior to class starting, please visit with the instructor before bringing your dog to class.

The focus of the Introductory Obedience Class (6:00) will be walking on leash, following basic commands such as sit/down/stay, general dog care and basic pet manners (learning to not jump on people, learning to come when called, learning to focus on handler, etc).  Additional information will be shared based on the needs of the class.

The focus of the Advanced Class (7:00) is to master the skills necessary to take and pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluation.  The ten elements can be found at AKC.org and include being petted by a friendly stranger, walking on a loose leash, staying and coming when called, and being able to walk by another dog.

Throughout both classes, you will be handling and training your dog.  The SKC instructors are here to train you.

Download and complete the Beginning Obedience Class registration form here and bring it the first night of class.
